Waveroom 2023: Reflecting on Achievements & Glimpsing into 2024
From introducing new features and making the tool free, Waveroom is becoming a full-fledged studio for remote podcasts.
As 2023 is coming to an end, it's time to reflect on the journey that Waveroom has taken over the past year. From transitioning from alpha to beta to introducing new features and making the tool free, Waveroom is becoming a full-fledged studio for remote podcasts and interview recording. Let's dive into the exciting developments and enhancements that defined Waveroom in 2023.
Waveroom Beta unveiled
The year began with a significant milestone for Waveroom as it transitioned from alpha to beta, which made the studio even more user-friendly and feature-rich.
- One of the standout features introduced in the beta version was the capability to record high-quality videos in up to 1080p resolution and MP4 format. Now, Waveroom can capture videos in 2K.
- Waveroom Beta took audio recording to the next level by offering uncompressed, lossless audio at a 48 kHz sample rate in WAV format. This improvement ensured that every nuance of the audio was captured, providing podcasters with the highest possible sound quality.
- The recording time was increased to 120 minutes. This enhancement applied to both video and audio-only sessions, giving creators the flexibility to produce longer and more in-depth content.
- Podcasters can now host group calls with up to five participants, fostering collaboration and diverse discussions.
Free access for all
In our latest move, we made Waveroom free for everyone, democratising access to its podcast recording capabilities. This decision aimed to empower creators of all levels, fostering a more inclusive podcasting community. Now, all the perks that used to be available to premium users are accessible to every podcaster.
Noise Removal in partnership with LALAL.AI
Waveroom teamed up with LALAL.AI to introduce a noise removal feature, further enhancing the audio quality of recordings. Now, you can get rid of background noise and elevate your podcast quality right in Waveroom by simply clicking on the Remove Noise button after your tracks appear on the dashboard.
Audio-only calls with the camera on
We know how important it is to see a guest during an interview, even if the video recording isn't necessary. An innovative addition to Waveroom was the ability to record audio-only calls with cameras on, without capturing the video itself. So now, in addition to recording only audio or audio + video simultaneously, podcasters and interviewers can also record audio tracks while still seeing their guests with their cameras on.
What lies ahead
But Waveroom is not resting on its laurels. The plans for 2024 unveil a series of features designed to elevate the podcasting experience even further.
🔴 Built-in editing tools
Editing your podcast recordings is about to become more accessible and convenient with Waveroom's built-in editing tools, so you can fine-tune your audio and video content directly within Waveroom, right in your browser.
🔴 Gap removal
In 2024, we're planning to introduce the gap removal feature. With this advancement, Waveroom will eliminate silence, pauses, and gaps automatically without you lifting a single finger.
🔴 Speech to text
A game-changing addition to Waveroom's arsenal in 2024 is the Speech to Text feature. Instantly convert spoken words from your podcast recording into written text, eliminating the need for manual transcription. This advancement not only saves time and effort but also enhances accessibility, making your podcast content easily searchable and shareable.
🔴 Mobile app
Waveroom recognises the importance of flexibility and convenience in podcasting. In 2024, the platform is set to launch a mobile app, providing users with the ability to record remotely not just from computers or laptops but also from smartphones.
Stay tuned for what's to come, and let Waveroom be your partner in unlocking the full potential of your podcasting journey.
Happy New Year & Happy Podcasting!
